My pit bull is extremely reactive and the worst dog ever on a leash for walks. I bought a prong collar thinking it would help. Nope… Yesterday my pit bull was pulling me even with a prong collar! He was choking himself so I removed it. I came on YouTube and found this video. Today I did two sessions following everything in this video, with our pitty, and he was walking next to me! He’s never done that before, ever! And he even didn’t try and dart when he heard other dogs barking, which is what he typically does. I am gonna keep working on him like this for the next week. I look forward to his progress!! Thank you so much for sharing a video that’s for our big strong dogs. I did feel bad doing a yank on him, but I only had to do it two times total and when I took him out the second time I didn’t need to yank him at all. It’s a miracle!!
I got a rescued Frenchie 2 yrs old old . forget pulling he try to drag us if he could . I did this for 2 day OMG what a difference sometimes I forget I’m holding a leash can’t wait to see after 2 months.
Thank you! I recently adopted a 5 years old shepherd-labrador mix and it's obvious she's never really been trained on walks. Whenever she sees another animal, dog, cat, squirrel, she starts pulling like crazy. She's about 50 lbs, not that heavy but she is freaky strong, all muscle. Concrete examples like this really help!
THANK YOU THANK YOU🎉 my 3 yr old lab was painful to walk… I don't even think this method took 10 mins with her. Walking with her is so much better now. Zero pull and she is paying attention to me and where im walking. Who knew it could be do easy…keep in mind she is a very smart lab.
I trained my ex's dog not to pull and stay beside me in a day or two without knowing any of these techniques, the way I looked at it was he had to know I was the alpha and I was running point. He still pulled when she walked him but not me.
I just tried this 30min ago with my 12wk Belgian Malinois… it does work. I saw bug improvement just today. Id say within a week or two hell be walking perfect
How do you leash train a dog that is not food motivated at all. I have a super picky Malinois and he is only "BALL" motivated. But i cant be expected to toss his ball as a reward every time he comes back to me and then go running after him before he takes off any further every time i try to leash train him. Also he's such a smart dog, he is great in a small controlled environment but when we're out in the "wild" so like the park, or going for a walk, he pulls all over again.
This worked for my 1 year old Shiba Inu who is fucking hyper af with no prong and cod fish treats exactly like how you done it in the sunny heat . Thank you a lot
Hey, just started this a few days ago with my husky Mal cross that I had been walking wrong for about 6 months, I originally tried a flat collar but felt he wasn’t getting the message so moved to a slip lead, we’ve made great progress in the last few days with the slip lead but wondering am I leaving impact on the table by switching to a prong? My concern is that I may injury him with a prong. Any pointers / ideas?
I think it’s easier for me to watch the videos then to follow them with no outcome 😆🙈 my malinois has been pulling on her lead for the whole year she has been on this planet 🙉 we had a dog trainer at one point who taught us a lot who in fact my dog would always behave for. As soon as I took the leash she pulls & let me add I am stern with her, everything I see you doing I do too. I still have hope but I am getting tired and my arm hurts a lot after the walk.
But what if my dog doesn’t want treats on a walk I’m struggling right now with having his attention i try n reward him when he does good but he ignores the treats but at home is when he’s wanting it tips anyone😅
I have a 6–8-month-old pup that is very hard at pulling, been working on leash training in doors because once outside she will not remain focused on me. So distracted she won't potty right away. will hold and once she is returned to kennel will whine to go back out, but again no potty, never every time of loose leash to come back to heel position, just constant pulls on leash. I take her back inside, kennel her several time mornings and night but will hold it, then hrs. later will whine to go outside as soon as I open kennel, snap on leash she is pooing as she heads for the door. So, she doesn't like potting inside and knows she needs to do it outside, but her leash pulling and distraction once outside she's so distracted with cars, bikes and people walking their dogs that the battel is constant. The gentle leader/head halty does give more control of pulling but still a fight. She has a bit of sit, down, training and in matter of hrs. of getting her to sit, wait before exiting door or gates been quickly learned, but once she is outside, she will immediately pull to yard gates to rush through them to get to street and every morning/evening trying to walk her to potty is same every day. I've had her 2 days and only distance of walk so far is keeping her in community yard area. Not been able to stop the pulling and the multi distractions to be able to take her on morning/evening walks yet. Most of her exercise physically is an indoor treadmill. And mental games and training indoors to tire he out to settle down to sleep at night. If I'm bored and not enjoying being out to walk as I do, I know she is frustrated and bored as well. I think her early 8–12-week training period for leash and basic obedience have been neglected…and I know if I could stop her from pulling, she will do better in rest of her training. She is so intelligent to all her other mental training being given she excels in. Indoors she will focus on me, but trying to get her to go outside to potty all her focus is everywhere else but me, and she twists, pulls even on gentle head leader. No U-turn available for loose leash give, or any time that the leash has a slack to do U-turn and be able to give a pop to the line. What am I doing wrong in my steps of trying to A: just go outside to potty w/o pulling for 30-40 minutes unfocused and B: listening to leash tension of straining, taunt line to get even a moment of release of tension to get immediate reward of given slack on the leash
I watched your video yesterday, and it’s already making a huge difference with my 1 year 9-month-old male Rottweiler. It seems to calm him not just during the walk, but throughout the whole experience.
For example, a male husky (which he normally doesn’t like) barked at him from about 5 meters away. This time, he was noticeably more relaxed, and with just a small "reminder" I was able to fully control the situation.

What do you do in a situation where your puppy simply lays down in defiance?

What kind of treats you use or is it normal dog food?
That Not Thanos that's Thaanose
I would tug my dog in that way and I felt like ppl are watching and would call the police lol😂
Does this work when the dog has a vest?
